How much a student would learn depends on how much a teacher would have taught him or her! Therefore, teaching should be thoughtfully planned and prepared to determine the outcome of learning! If this is the case, then I wonder why Dr. Salu Hunkin Finau philosophically believes that "the most important person in the classroom is the teacher." Additionally, according to several research studies, the correlation between poor teaching and low achievement rate is closely related. As a former classroom teacher with at least ten years of teaching experiences, I truly believe in the fact that we, the teachers are the most influential people that can make exceptional and unbelievable changes in the lives of our students through our dedication and commitment, our thoughtful and strategic planning and preparation, and above all, our honesty and willingness in executing our required teaching responsibilities in serving our students. Therefore as teachers, we should have always realized that the quality of teaching calculates the quality of learning. |
